Vinos de Espana Reviews Toro WinesTue 18 Jan 2005
The reknowned Spanish wine magazine Vinos de Espana recently reviewed Toro wines, stating that over the past three years, the wines of the DO have significantly changed and now offer a good alternative to wines from Rioja and Ribera del Duero (a neighbouring region). Previously the high alcoholic content of Toro wines meant that they were not as popular as other wines, but new winemaking methods and styles have shown that the Tinta de Toro grape (Tempranillo) can produce elegant and sophisticated wines. Several of the Bodegas Fariņa wines were rated highly by the magazine, with the following results: Gran Colegiata Crianza Roble Frances 1999 Gran Colegiata Campus 2000 Gran Colegiata Reserva 1996 |
