Tue 6 Apr 2004

The May edition of Wine International magazine reports that a double magnum of Vega Sicilia Unico 1986 was sold for $65,000 dollars (34,500) at a charity auction in Florida, USA. This is the highest price ever paid for Spanish wine at $20,000 (10,500) more than the previous record, which was also by the same bodegas. The Naples Winter Wine Festival auction raised more than $7 million (3.7 million) for 15 charities.
