Bodegas Sinforiano Vaquero lies just outside the village of Mucientes, north of Valladolid, in the wine region of DO
Cigales. The new winery, completed in 2007, is a far step from the old underground cellar and concrete tanks where in 1966 Sinforiano Vaquero and Daniela Gomez first established their bodegas.
Today the vineyard is run by Sinforiano's and Daniela's sons, Juan Antonio, Miguel and Sergio.
The grapes are picked from their 50 hectares of vines spread out around the village of Mucientes. Currently 40 hectares are dedicated to goblet or bush vines, with the remaining 10 hectares cane-trained. More than half of the vines are 60 years or older, with the majority being
Tempranillo and the rest
Verdejo ,
Albillo,
Garnacha Tinta and
Cabernet Sauvignon.
