This is a great example of Crianza from the Castilla y León region, but originating from DO Cigales a lesser known area compared to its famous neighbour Ribera del Duero. Well integrated fruit and oak and a long complex finish. This wine will continue to improve in bottle. To be enjoyed now or over the next few years.
PARKERS NOTES: "The 2003 Crianza is composed of 95% Tempranillo and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon which spent 15 months in French and American oak. It offers an enticing bouquet of cedar, Asian spices, mineral, and blackberry. Medium-bodied, it has very good depth and concentration, lots of ripe, spicy black fruits, and a long, pure finish. It will evolve for another 1-2 years in the bottle and will drink well through 2015.” |
