Bodegas Rubio
Bodegas Rubio is tucked away in a quiet side-street in La Palma del Condado. From the outside it is an unassuming building, so it is difficult to imagine the noble cellars and contents that lie within!!!

The miracle of Luis Felipe was made possible when, in 1893, in a remote corner of a cellar in La Palma del Condado, some casks of very old and noble oak were discovered containing an aged brandy with an extremely dense colour and aroma, as well as the smooth, semi-sweet taste acquired with the passage of time. Those abandoned, practically forgotten, casks were marked “Luis Felipe”, as they were originally reserved for Antoine d’Orleans, Duke of Monpensier and son of Louis Philippe I, King of France, who was living at that time in the Palace of San Telmo in Seville. It is from that prodigious liquor that the Luis Felipe brandy we enjoy today comes.
